A major global insurance provider needed to understand its positioning in the European mid-corporate segment and the appetite for a cross border proposition against a background of Freedom of Service (FoS) legislation.
The project was likely to require desk research to scope the size of market, in-depth qualitative research to understand and scope needs and ultimately quantitative research to measure appetite and support the business case.
A particular challenge was securing the co-operation of very senior, time pressed individuals as they approached the renewal season.
A qualitative investigation among 32 senior insurance brokers in firms across 5 European territories ensued.
Interviews were a mix of face-to-face and by telephone of 30-45 minutes and conducted in their mother tongue where appropriate.
Interviews were recorded and transcripts made and a full report from the centre produced and individual country reports.
The report was presented in detail internally to the project team.
