Broking Now! is the UK’s only commercial lines insurance broker panel. It began in 2005 with the objective of giving clients quick and easy access to a pool of quality respondents for research purposes – to ask as much or as little as required in a short time frame and reporting on an exclusive basis, for external PR or internal strategic marketing purposes. It has ran over 50 times since then and we try to run c8 waves pa.
The panel runs rather like an consumer omnibus study, so different clients subscribe their own exclusive question set each time. Research is among 250 brokers comprising 55 nationals (top 50 firms), 45 super-regionals (top 51-250 firms) and 150 provincials, designed to be nationally representative. We can also access the panel for personal lines questions too. All interviewing is by telephone (rather than on-line) to ensure highest possible quality, a high response rate (70%+) and fully probed answers to open-ended questions.
Clients use it to track things like NPS, satisfaction, awareness as well as trends in market such as penetration of software houses and e-trading or who is particularly competitive at the moment. Others use it to check advertising concepts, product concepts or for PR purposes with a particular story or theme.
Questions start from £500 for a simple yes/ no question up to £1000 per open-ended question, while scaled and grid questions are costed individually. Timing wise, it takes 3 weeks from agreement of questions to results which entail detailed data tabulations breaking out findings by size, type, region, network etc and we include a short set of summarised slides for easy dissemination.
