Ian Winters, Executive Director and Head of Research has worked for MORI, Prudential General Insurance Division, The Financial Marketing Consultancy and established and ran Insurance Research & Strategy (IRS) for 12 years prior to it being acquired by FWD in 2004. Ian has an honours degree in Business Studies and is a full member of the Market Research Society (MRS) and a member of the Independent Consultancy Group (ICG). Ian is equally at home with qualitative, quantitative and consultancy assignments spanning both general insurance, reinsurance, life and pensions and investment business. When not at work you’re likely to find him on the tennis court (now playing veterans! or still coaching), on his bike heading into the hills of the Lake District National park, where he lives with his wife and children.
Mike Harmer, Director, Research specialises in helping organisations use research to create business benefits. He has worked for both the insurance and consultancy sectors (Aviva, Saatchi’s) so understands how to develop and maximise research solutions and how to implement findings to create change and improvement. Mike specialises in general insurance consultancy and has a particular passion for creative presentations. On a personal level, he lives in Norwich, enjoys horse riding and is a passionate follower of Chelsea FC.
